BALLS!

or how we learned to love our curves

Expo zero, ZEIT's Nullnummer,

using the circle as its starting point

A circle. The most basic shape there is. Symbol of the infinite, of eternity and totality, of timelessness. Quite appropriate for an art space called ZEIT, we thought. Or read it as a zero, if you want, a base to build upon, a place from where to grow. The new kid in town keeps it simple.

Taking the circle as the theme for our first exhibition, we are able to offer you a peek into what we are planning to bring in the upcoming shows. The works on display in this first selection range from trusted Belgian post-war abstract artists such as Gilbert Decock and Pol Bury and their colleagues working in neighbouring countries like Geneviève Claisse and Lothar Quinte to contemporaries embracing a new abstract language including Lotte Van den Audenaeren, Filip Collin and Jef Meyer. A mixed bunch and yet, they have so much in common. At least, that’s what we think.

A circle is also a group of people who share the same interests.

We hope you will like this selection as much as we do.
